Is the problem then speed class or capacity?ĭoes anyone have a view on what specs should and should not work with the most recent G1000 software versions (0321.22/0321. Download PDF Print Page Share Link Formatting the Memory Card The device requires a memory card formatted using the FAT32 file system. And I still find it curious that I couldn't get the microSDHC card to work with the adapter. I am thinking of just ordering the same 8 GB SanDisk SDHC I cards as they were working but couldn't resist the questions about acceptable specs: The fact that they are working (SDHC I spec is even newer than the SDHC spec) seems to go against the advice of some in this forum and other pilot forums. Software version 0321.22 (I read that the older software versions might be more restrictive on use of SDHC vs SD cards) not sure whether the SDHC spec was officially even around when the G1000 was built) As I am thinking of ordering a few spare SD cards I wanted to check which ones you think should be compatible with the G1000. I was under the (possibly wrong) impression that the workings of a microSD and SD card are the same and the adapter merely provides wiring from smaller pins to larger pins, however the other differences are memory capacity (8 GB vs 16 GB) and branding and speed class (SanDisk SDHC card, speed class 4, SDHC I vs SanDisk Ultra, speed class 10 - microSDHC I). I might have pushed my luck yesterday by buying a 16 GB SanDisk microSD card inclusive of a SanDisk SD adapter (they are sold together). The question arose because my 8 GB SanDisk SDHC card, which worked in the top card slot, broke yesterday (in the physical sense). I am aware of the fact that this topic has been covered in some other threads and also in other pilot forums but I was not able to get a fully conclusive answer to the question what SD cards are compatible with the G1000.
